At this point, you have completed your research and now it’s time for you to be the journalist and write a newspaper story of your chosen topic.
Review Ch. 5 & 6 of Reaching Audiences for insight and examples of how to write a story lead and use the inverted pyramid when writing news stories.
Prepare a summary lead of no more than 75 words based on your topic.
Write a 350- to 700-word news story about your topic using the inverted pyramid style. Be sure to include the basic news elements: who, what, where, when, why, and how in your story.
Note to student. The ability to write concisely in the inverted pyramid style is a valued skill not only in the news industry but in many public relations and communications offices.

The purpose of this application is to provide the student an opportunity to critically appraise advanced nursing practice leadership from an ethic of care perspective.
