In this unit, various topics were discussed as we were introduced to integrated security systems for judicial facilities. This assignment will provide you with an opportunity to further explore these topics by creating a PowerPoint presentation.

For this assignment, imagine that you have just been awarded a government contract and have been asked by the chief judicial official at your local county/district court to conduct a security survey. Prepare a presentation and provide an outline on the purpose and the process you expect to take in completing this survey. The purpose of the presentation is to brief the court administrators as to what you will be doing to conduct an effective survey and why you will be doing it. You may include photos or images, but keep in mind the core of this presentation should be concentrating on your report, so keep images to a minimum.

The completed PowerPoint presentation should be at least ten slides in length. You should utilize at least two references in addition to the course textbook. Be sure to provide in-text citations and a reference slide with proper APA formatting. The cover and reference slides do not contribute to the slide count. You should use the slide notes function to explain slide content as necessary.

Unit III Article Review

In the lesson, we discussed additional security systems for judicial facilities. This assignment provides you with an opportunity to further explore this topic by reviewing an article on this subject. Using the CSU Online Library, locate one article from a professional journal. This article should be no more than four (4) years old and at least three (3) pages in length.

The purpose of an article review is to let other readers know what the work is about so that they may decide if they want to read it. Other readers probably have not read the article, so the review should not only describe the article, but also evaluate it. Include each of the following within your article review:

• An introduction to the article
• The key points from the article  A summary of the article’s conclusion
• An evaluation of the article, to include:
  • Why is this article important? o Should others read it?
  • Was the article well written (organized, easy to understand, etc.)?
  • What is your perspective and opinion on the article?

The completed article review must be a minimum of three (3) full pages in length, not including the title page, abstract, and reference page. The article review should be written in paragraph format. The article selected should discuss some of the effective response mechanics that are essential to ensure a successful outcome. Unit VII Essay

For this assignment, you are required to research a courthouse incident and evaluate what went right and what went wrong. You will use the lessons learned and recommendations contained in the report produced by the National Center for State Courts titled Courthouse Violence in 2010-2012.

On page one of the report, you will find seven incidents; you will choose one (1) incident to research and write about. No more than two pages should be spent summarizing the incident and what led up to it. The remaining three pages should be devoted to assessing what went wrong and what was handled correctly. Courthouse Security Incident

In this final unit, we wrap up what we have learned by doing a brief analysis of a courthouse security-related incident. This assignment will provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the material presented by creating a PowerPoint presentation.

You will research and identify an incident that occurred at a United States courthouse within the past ten years. You will produce a brief overview and analysis of the incident as if you were providing this information to the staff of another courthouse. Your presentation should include, but not be limited to, a discussion of the physical layout of the courthouse, the tactics and goals of the perpetrator(s), specific security considerations, and the final outcome. Analyze what went right and what went wrong.
