Unit I PowerPoint Presentation

As stated in the Unit I Lesson, the importance of an international trade can be roughly measured using a ratio called openness. For this assignment you will need to develop and arrange a minimum five-slide PowerPoint presentation (not including title or reference pages). You will need to select a nation, determine its openness ratio, and discuss what the measure of openness means for the nation’s economy.

 

Your presentation should meet the following requirements:

 

1. Include no more than six abbreviated bulleted items for each slide in approximately 24-point font.
2. The title slide content should include the title of the assignment, your name, your professor’s name, the course title, and the date.
3. Summarize the nation’s economic history/background.
4. Calculate the nations openness ratio (show your work).
5. Discuss what the measure of openness means for the nation’s economy. What can you tell by measuring the openness?
6. Your research must include at least two peer-reviewed academic sources—ensure APA citations and reference page are included in the presentation.
7. In the “Notes View,” incorporate the talking points you would use when presenting the slides.

Unit III Essay

 

Unit III focuses heavily on tariffs and non-tariff trade barriers. For this assignment, you are asked to prepare a minimum 500-word essay discussing the following content:

 

• Define tariff and the different types of tariffs.
• Identify and discuss the major nontariff barriers to trade.
• Justify the use of trade barriers.
• Using a real life example, explain the effects tariffs and other trade barriers have had on social welfare in a country of your choosing.
• Identify any unfair trade practices that have been reported in your chosen country, if any.

 

Your assignment must:

 

• Be a minimum of 500 words.
• Identify timely and relevant content from an external source and apply it to one of the key concepts presented.
• Be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA format.

For this assignment, you are asked to identify one developing nation and succinctly address the following:

 

1. Examine the characteristics of the developing nation’s trade.
2. Identify trade problems of the developing nation.
3. Discuss possible growth strategies.
4. Discuss tension between the developing nation and one advanced nation.
5. Contrast the trade policies between the developing nation and chosen advanced nation. Examine the

characteristics of the advanced nation’s trade.

 

Your assignment must:

 

• Be a minimum of 300 words.
• Be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA format.

Unit V PowerPoint Presentation

 

For this assignment you are asked to play the role of instructor. Develop and arrange a minimum 10-slide PowerPoint presentation–meeting the learning objectives for Unit V.

 

Your presentation should meet the following requirements:

 

1. Identify four different types of Regional Trade Agreements (RTAs).
2. Examine the European Union (EU) and its current state. Discuss how the EU is related to RTAs.
3. Discuss the benefits and negative aspects of using a common currency.
4. Define the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and its application.
5. Describe the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and its relation to RTAs.
6. Include between five and six abbreviated bulleted items for each slide in approximately 24-point font.
7. The title slide content should include the title of the assignment, your name, your professor’s name, the course title, and the date.
8. Your research must include at least two peer-reviewed academic sources—ensure APA citations and reference page are included in the presentation.
