Mayo Clinic is medical research and practice group that was first established in 1863, in Rochester, Minnesota. Since its establishment, the group continued to record stable growth throughout the 20th century. Today, Mayo Clinic is the largest non-profit oriented medical group in the world.
In 2012, the group had over 3,800 physicians and over 50,900 allied health staff. Mayo clinic has specialized in address complex medical issues (Taninecz, 2012). The group spends over $ 500 million in research activities and has appeared among the America’s “100 Best Companies to Work For’’ for over 20 years.

One of the trends that are likely to characterize the next decades is a shift to low cost providers (Pearl, 2013). The cost of healthcare in the country has been alarmingly high.
