Organizational structure is defined by Ottih in 2008: “A framework of roles, responsibilities, authority, and communication relationships that are deliberately designed to accomplish an organization’s tasks and achieve its objectives”[Ken13] The organizational structure is a management hierarchy, and is essential for each of, but not limited to, the following:

Achievement of goals set forth by the organization

Interdepartmental Communication

Communication with outside sources

Employee performance evaluations

Problematic prevention and solution management Organizations are a management hierarchy that serve as a clearly defined sense of order,and a sense of responsibility. The concise functions of each segment have to be functional,and productive, with a sense of purpose.

The fashion industry is fluid and ever evolving, and as so, has to keep up with the demands of the world. Human Resources, Sales and Marketing,Information Technologies, Production and Operations, Research and Development, and Finance and Accounting, all have crucial roles that are different for every type of business.For instance: Ralph Lauren uses the sales and marketing department to create brand identity and loyalty.

Organizational structure can be the great success, or complete failure of a business, and as such, everything needs to be functional and productive to achieve the goals that they have set forth. With everything in business, every business and situation is different, and may require alternative organizational structures.
