ARTICLE RESPONSE PAPER FORMAT GUIDELINES

~1 ½  pages in length, typewritten, double spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 point font, APA format

 

Author(s), (Publication Year). Title of Article

 

In this course, you will read many thought provoking and emotion stimulating articles.  I am interested in your reactions to these articles.  You will write 2 Article Response Papers about 2 separate articles.  Please do not write an Article Response Paper about the topic that correlates with your Advocacy Project.

 

Your Article Response paper should contain an introductory paragraph, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

  1. Introductory paragraph:
    1. Explain why you picked the article (what spoke to or touched you from the article?).
    2. Briefly summarize the topic and what the article is about.
  2. Supporting body paragraph #1:
    1. Pick an idea, concept, quote, etc. from the article and explain it in one or two sentences.
    2. Share your response to the idea, concept, quote, etc. Include your feelings, insights, thoughts, reflections, and reactions.
    3. Relate the idea, concept, quote, etc to your experiences, or explain why you cannot.
    4. Connect the material to other readings (be sure to cite using APA format).
    5. Be passionate!
