Introduction

Briefly overview the paper. You will need a thesis statement that previewed the content that follows this paragraph. This is a good opportunity to have a quote or articulation of major theories that have influenced your benchmark.

Philosophy of Classroom Management

I strongly encourage you to review the feedback provided to date. Include researched elements in addressing the rubric consistent with the rest of the feedback provided in the class to date. Philosophy provides well-supported and insightful personal viewpoint of classroom management. Write a 2-3 paragraph description of the culture you will promote in your classroom. Avoid first and second person usage. Include broad expectations of the teacher and the students. Include a minimum of TWO citations here strengthening your argument. Think about reasons why you believe CM is important. How will your classroom run if you do not establish yourself from day one?

Procedures

Procedures are thoroughly described with all the required elements and age appropriate. Procedures thoroughly cover a variety of concerns in classroom environment. Use the procedures feedback from week 2 to develop this content. Please be sure to only include 5 of the original 7 submitted. This should be in the same format as your original assignment and not paragraph format.

Rules, Consequences, and Rewards System

System is complete, well designed, and age appropriate. Rationale provides a thorough justification for system elements and clearly describes its implementation. System addresses the needs of diverse learners. Include a rationale for your system with researched-based content. I want to know WHY you have chosen your rules, consequences, and the reward system. Just stick to ONE reward system. Include citations for all idea you borrowed from other authors.  Remember to avoid first and second person usage. Why did you choose these ideas? Explain in detail how these rules, consequences and rewards fit your overall plan.

Rules:

rules system and list these here

Consequences:

(Make it a first, second, third-strike type system. Much easier for kids to understand. Don’t have different consequences for each rule. A rule is a rule. Break it, and we move up the ladder to first consequence. Don’t have to have four if it doesn’t work for you)

Reward System:

Need to see at least a paragraph or two here explaining your system. If you are using one from an existing model (Jones, Wong, Canter, etc) cite it. If it’s one you’ve seen used in another classroom, that’s fine. Just explain how the reward system works, and most importantly how it ties into your rule and consequences. They MUST all match.

Communication with Parents/Guardians

Communication methods are complete, detailed and insightful in the considerations of the parents/guardians. Rationale explains in detail why each method is useful in teaching environments. Identify at least three ways you will communicate with parents and include a rationale for each. Provide at least one sentence after each explaining how this idea will help you with your classroom management plan.

Student Engagement Strategies

Student Engagement Strategies

Summarize three ways to keep your students engaged. Engagement strategies are complete with insightful information and classroom arrangements. Description of implementation is thorough and is realistic. Strategies are age appropriate. I need to see at least one of these three strategies relate directly to your classroom arrangement. Feel free to include the drawing it if helps you explain it better. I do not want to just see a list of three games or activities you plan to use. I would like to see the WHY behind the strategy. Why will this help engage your students? The WHY is always more important that the HOW. Look at the rubric for specific details here. Please use citations to support these concepts.

Professionalism

Use the feedback provided from your professionalism paper from week 5. Professionalism is clearly outlined in relation to students, parents, co-workers, and administrators. Reflection is complete, detailed, and insightful with areas of strength, areas for improvement, and a clear description as to why professionalism is important. Summarize ten ways of being professional with students, parents, co-workers, and administrators. Provide at least one sentences explaining why this idea is important and applies to being a professional in the classroom. I have seen too many students in the past get generic here. Be as specific as possible. Professionalism can have a huge impact on your success or failure in the classroom.
