Note with care that you are to use 12 point size Times New Roman font. Your margins are one inch set at \”normal.\” Your essay paper should be no more than 3 pages in length for the text part with a separate TITLE PAGE and a separate BIBLIOGRAPHY PAGE. So the total will be five sheets of paper—electronic paper as you please.
For the Bibliography you will cite in APA style (see link to Purdue OWL site inserted above) the assigned readings you are responding to in your essay. You should also cite books and other references you consult. You are welcome to use materials you find on the web to become better informed about the history subject you are writing on. Please consult scholarly books and publications and then cite them in your bibliography . A scholarly book is one published by a university press and will have the university in its name.: i.e.: \”Indiana University Press.\” There are commercial publishers who issue books that are scholarly also. Read widely and read with care and see how this affects the way you approach your essay writing. You will thus compose your essay with more care and discuss the history material with greater understanding. Contact your teacher for more help on this, as needed.
IMPORTANT: On the title page of your essay you are to directly quote the assignment question you are writing about. You are also to offer your thesis in ONE sentence on the title page. See the example showing you exactly how this is to be done. This way it will be very clear just what you are \’essaying\’ in your essay. The word essay comes from French and it means \’to make an attempt.\’ Good luck making your attempt!
