Abstract Outside the workplace or hospital, there are times when health care professionals’ patients’ could be their family, friends, consumers, church affiliation, staffs, or employers. The borderline that occurs amongst patient and doctor can turn out to be blurred in these situations. This could lead to ethical encounters that are personal and professional in nature (Pomerantz, 2009). Patient and Provider Relationship Patients should be able to trust their doctors because they provide very personal and often humiliating info that is essential for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Conventional ethical principles for the patient-provider affiliation are established on respect, trustworthiness, faith, confidentiality, looking out for the patient’s health, and avoidance of self-interest. This straightforward consideration is deal with the principles of nonmaleficence, beneficence, and respect for patient autonomy, proficiency, and justice (Morrison & Furlong, 2014). Doctor’s, nurse’s or other clinician’s conduct and performances are to signify the ethical values of the patient-clinician relationship.
